Female founder finding her blind spots before they find her

Find your founder blind spots before they find you.

Your books may look “done”…

But your financial systems are likely still exposing your business to risk.

Our Founder Blind Spot Check will identify what you and others may be overlooking:

“You can outsource the work. You can’t outsource the awareness.”

Your business can be growing while your understanding of it is shrinking.

More revenue, more people, more systems, more moving pieces… the challenge is making sure you still have enough visibility to know what’s working, what isn’t, and what deserves a closer look.

Which Founder Stage Are You In?

Growing

Your business is gaining momentum, but the systems, reporting, and processes that worked before may not be keeping up. Get ahead of the growing pains by identifying the financial and operational pressure points that tend to show up before they become expensive problems.

Questioning

Something feels off, but you’re not sure what, or you’re simply no longer comfortable taking the numbers at face value. Learn which questions to ask, where to look deeper, and how to spot the gaps that may be limiting your visibility and confidence.

Preparing

A big decision or transition is on the horizon, and you want to know your business is ready for it. Whether you’re preparing to hire, seek financing, change systems, expand, or make another major move, we’ll uncover what needs attention before you take the next step.

You don’t know what you don’t know. And in business, that can get expensive, fast.

Most founders have no shortage of people willing to give them answers. The harder part is knowing whether you’re asking the right questions.

The Confident Ledger™ is for understanding:

  • What you should be paying attention to

  • Where visibility is limited

  • What assumptions need to be challenged

  • Which risks deserve attention and when

Hi, I’m Jamie Skinner

The Confident Ledger's founder, Jamie Skinner. Consultant for female founders raising businesses and families. Helping founders find their blind spots before they find them.

Credentials

CPA, State of CA

MBA, Univ. of NV Reno

I’ve worked behind the scenes of growing companies:  building finance teams, cleaning up messy books, aligning accrual-based reporting, and helping founders make hard decisions.

I’ve seen how easily financial systems can become fragile, especially when founders are relying on small internal teams during periods of intense growth.

And I’ve been a founder balancing real life too, building something meaningful while trying to get dinner on the table.

The Confident Ledger™ was built to change that.

You shouldn’t have to become a finance expert just to run your business.

That’s where I come in.

I bridge the gap between finance and operations to help founders see the bigger picture. Most advisors specialize in one or the other. Operations people often lack deep financial expertise, while financial professionals frequently focus on reports and compliance without understanding how systems, processes, teams, technology, and day-to-day operations all work together.

My approach connects those worlds.

Rather than simply delivering answers or fixing isolated problems, I help founders build the awareness, judgment, and confidence to ask better questions, recognize blind spots earlier, and make proactive decisions before small visibility gaps become expensive clean-up projects.

Education is at the heart of everything I do. My goal isn't to make clients dependent on me. It's to help them become stronger leaders who understand their financial operations well enough to confidently oversee their business, evaluate advice, hire the right experts, and make informed decisions as they continue to grow. My goal is to give them the tools to empower themselves and serve as a guide as they continue to scale their businesses over time.

A clear path from uncertainty to confident decisions

Founder Blind Spot Assessment™

Every business has blind spots. The challenge is that they're often hidden in the gaps between your financial systems, processes, team responsibilities, and decision-making. During this focused assessment, we'll identify what's working, uncover potential risks, and pinpoint the areas creating uncertainty, inefficiency, or unnecessary stress. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your current state and a prioritized action plan for moving forward.

Focused Deep-Dives

Once key opportunities and risks have been identified, we can take a deeper look at the areas that matter most. Whether it's financial reporting, cash flow visibility, team workflows, compliance concerns, operational processes, or system integrations, these focused sessions are designed to help you understand the root causes, evaluate options, and build practical solutions that fit your business.

Ongoing Advisory Oversight

As your business evolves, new challenges and blind spots inevitably emerge. Ongoing advisory oversight provides a trusted sounding board and an experienced second set of eyes to help you stay ahead of issues before they become problems. Through regular review, strategic guidance, and continued accountability, you'll have support in making informed decisions with greater confidence and clarity.

Reactive founders build less resilient businesses than proactive founders.

Most business emergencies and failures begin as blind spots.

A process that worked at $500K may become unreliable at $1M. A report that was “good enough” may stop answering the questions lenders or investors ask. A payroll, compliance, or cash-flow issue may have warning signs months before it demands the founder’s attention.

The goal isn’t to eliminate every problem.

It’s to ensure you see them coming so you have the opportunity to find a solution with the best outcome.
